Goal
Give a small business a real business number, with no hardware and no long contracts
The challenge.
A business line carried by an app has to behave like a phone, not like an app. If the call arrives as a notification and the app has to be opened to answer it, the missed customer does not call back. The challenge came down to three requirements that pull against each other. The call had to ring like a normal call on the iPhone, even with the app closed. The owner had to be able to hand the line to an AI receptionist in French or English when they cannot pick up, while keeping control of the voice, the greetings, and the on-off switch. And all of it had to fit in a single bilingual interface simple enough for a restaurant owner or a broker to set up between two appointments, while stating a real limit of the service plainly: internet-based phone service does not replace a landline and does not guarantee access to 911.
A phone, not an app.
We built 26 Connect on top of the iPhone's native calling behaviour rather than beside it, then layered AI exactly where it solves a real problem: the calls nobody picks up.
- Bilingual AI receptionist The owner picks a voice, writes the greetings, describes the business, then turns the receptionist on or off from the app, in French or in English.
- Native calling integration The iPhone rings like a regular call even when the app is closed, and an in-call keypad handles phone menus and extensions.
- Transcribed voicemail Visual voicemail transcribes every message automatically in French and English, on our own servers, so it can be read instead of played back.
- Numbers, lines, and SMS A local number is picked inside the app from 60+ Canadian area codes and most US area codes. Every extension rings on the iPhone, and the owner chooses which number shows as caller ID. Business SMS is available on SMS-enabled numbers.

The result.
26 Connect: Business Phone has been live on the App Store since 2 July 2026, at version 1.0.5, free to download with an in-app subscription: Solo, Equipe, or Affaires, monthly or annual, with a 14-day free trial. Published by 26 Telecom, a brand of 26 Branding Agency Inc., the app exercises the full chain we build in-house: cloud telephony, native iOS calling integration, voice AI, and transcription running on our own servers, all inside a bilingual interface with light and dark mode. Privacy is part of the product rather than the fine print: no advertising, no advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking, TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and data stored primarily in Canada, in Beauharnois, Quebec, in line with Quebec Law 25, federal PIPEDA, and EU GDPR where applicable. The limit is stated plainly on the listing: the service does not replace a landline and does not guarantee access to 911.
